Lace Front Wig Manufacturers
With supplies of toilet paper and yeast quickly running out, many people have turned to alternative hair solutions during the pandemic. One of the most popular protective styles is a lace front wig, which allows for versatile styling while still providing a natural-looking scalp blend. With the right brand, this type of wig can be as easy to style and maintain as your own natural hair. But not all lace front wig manufacturers are created equal. So, we spoke to a few experts to learn more about their favorite picks.
For a wig that looks as close to natural as possible, opt for a HD or transparent lace option. “They are the thinnest lace on the market, allowing them to virtually disappear into the scalp,” says Nicole Fulton, co-founder of The Hair Closet. For a sturdier option, she recommends choosing one with luxe Swiss or Korean lace.
Another thing to look out for is the cap size of your wig. “If you’re going to be wearing it a lot, choose a bigger size,” says Placide. For example, a 13-by-4 can be practical for someone with an average head size, while a 14-by-6 is ideal for those who want a deeper parting.
Then there’s the density of your wig. “You want to go for at least 130 percent, but if you’re new to lace you can even get away with 100,” says Aasiyah Abdulsalam, founder of the Wig Fix. She likes Chia V Hair for their high-end selection of lace, which is more durable than other brands.
Another option she recommends is What Wigs, which was responsible for Khloe Kardashian’s short brown bob. “They have a huge community on Instagram where everyone gives each other tips about the installation process,” she says. Their lace is clear, and they offer more color options than most other wig brands.
